KloudData @ Sapphire Now 2013

It is finally that time of the year when the Americas SAP User Group Conference (ASUG) starts. Sapphire 2013 is an event not to be missed. It is an apt platform for all SAP partners to getjavascript:; together and share innovations in technologies like Cloud Computing, Analytics and showcase their Enterprise Mobility Apps etc. It is also a time and place which keeps businesses abreast with SAP innovations like in-memory computing and the HANA platform for handling various aspects of Big Data that impacts industries in various ways. Discussions at an event like this helps the decision makers of both large and small enterprises to find out how all this can help them to gain business value.

SAP Sapphire Now has evolved from being a conference to a confluence of business networks where CIOs, CTOs, LOB heads, CEOs, CFOs and other business leaders meet and discuss strategies about upcoming technologies and how it affects various business areas like finance, operations, customer care and overall productivity. The large amounts of content shared is concentrated into a one-day community forum format, which makes it easier for the delegates to assimilate and digest what is new in their areas of interests.
In this event it can be very well expected that the financial area will attract the most attention. We at KloudData too, are also focusing on this as to how adapting HANA with Sybase IQ 16 will impact the applications and analytics used for making financial decisions. KloudData is also the proud Co-host for a Lunch and Learn with Sybase IQ 16 Event that is going to be held at the SAP New York office. More details about this can be found on my previous blog post.

The different demonstrations, round table discussions and subject matter experts’ theater presentation sessions, from both SAP and its partners will add immense value for all those who are attending this event. Almost all the participants have definite valuable takeaways in various forms. Tim Clark of SAP too has written in his post dated 9th April 2013, in the SAP News Room on this event as a Test Drive Table. It is to take place in the services campus and all customers with mobile devices there, will be allowed to test drive all these apps without any interruptions.

KloudData will also be participating in Sapphire Now 2013, where experts will demonstrate our Award-Winning Apps and will showcase our competency for implementing and deploying SAP Mobile Solutions. You can meet KloudData’s expert executives for strategic business discussions on adapting Enterprise Mobility, integration of KloudData Apps with HANA and their unique implementation methodology for deploying Syclo Apps like the SAP Work Manager in record time. KloudData’ website currently has a simple form to schedule a meeting with our experts at Sapphire Now 2013.

Lunch and Learn Event with SAP Sybase IQ 16

We at KloudData are busy, preparing in full swing, for co-hosting an exciting new event “Lunch and Learn with Sybase IQ 16“ at SAP’s New York office.  This event is going to be about the latest release of SAP Sybase IQ 16, an integral component of SAP’s Real-Time Data Platform.

I am particularly excited about this as this development is about one of my personal favorite technological frontier’s Big Data. There are going to be great discussions about the route to adapting SAP HANA and we shall be introduced to the Speed and Power of SAP Sybase IQ 16. Let us just get a brief understanding about the background of what this event is all about.

We are all aware that industries today are trying to cope with the massive onslaught of Big Data. As the volume of data has now increased from Terabytes to Petabytes, the current infrastructure and systems are not able to handle this quantity of data especially considering the velocity at which it is being generated. So in order to process the Petabytes, large volumes of data need to be loaded fast and at very high speeds. SAP HANA and Sybase IQ exactly help to do this at rates faster than ever. This makes Big Data available to applications and people quickly, for in-the-moment decision making.

For the more technically inclined, Sybase IQ achieves its power to manage heavy work loads in tandem by having a column-oriented, expandable, grid-based, and massively parallel processing (MPP) architecture along with data compression and indexing technologies. The presentations to be made at this Lunch and Learn event would further throw more light on these and other such aspects as well.

The registration forms to Join Lunch and Learn with SAP Sybase IQ 16 event is live on the KloudData website. I am sure looking forward to meeting more Big Data enthusiasts and business decision makers at this unique event and hope to see you there too.

The Benefits of Implementing SAP BPC (Planning and Consolidation) Software

I have been lucky enough to be at the forefront of starting more than one business in related technical areas. And hence I can say with authority that business planning, budgeting and financial forecasting are few of the most important functions that need to be undertaken by both entrepreneurs in case of a start up and the management if it’s an established enterprise.

Proper planning and consolidation requires performance data on many operational levels of the company. Although most companies use Microsoft Excel for data consolidation, there are times when this very useful tool does not remain useful enough. Excel is not a data base and should not be used as one. It is in such cases that companies should use more hybrid solutions that give the ease of Excel but support much more complex operations with larger amounts of data.
Implementing SAP BPC

SAP has understood this and come up with a modern planning application called SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation (BPC). This application has kept Excel at the heart of its solution and yet provides the benefits of a secure and robust data warehouse structure.

SAP BPC offers a robust multi-user platform that is integrated with Microsoft Excel and also leverages the powers of Microsoft SQL Server. The other version of this software uses SAP Netweaver as its back-end database. Even though some functionalities offered by these versions are different, the look and feel is almost the same to the end user. This is a multi-user platform which supports simple as well as complex processes. As it is also multi-dimensional, users are free to break down and re-assemble information according to their needs.

SAP BPC uses the OLAP technology which makes data available as soon as it is entered. Thus, saving time and efforts required for data aggregation. This further enables organizations to keep an accurate track of progress through the budgeting and forecasting processes.

The Main Features of SAP BPC

SAP BPC allows organizations to maintain accurate data to keep a track of any changes in planning and management. This enables organizations to assimilate accurate and timely data for its forecasting needs. Its unified process allows for better planning, quicker requirement gathering and reporting consolidation. It helps to manage the business better and improves performance in the organization.

The other benefits of implementing SAP BPC are:

• Better cash management with reduced financial risks
• Better planning and clearer view of the future
 • Improved workflow version controls To know more on this,

Aiming for EHS and Compliance Success and Know Key Practice Area

We live in times where there is a rising concern for the environment and safety of employees. Therefore, organizations have to take special efforts to ensure employee safety as well as work according to established standards of environmental health. Large industries have staff exclusively dedicated to environmental affairs. However, this is not always possible for mid-size or small industries. Safety norms include training and motivating employees for environmental health and safety and enforcing compliance requires implementing procedures that ensure the observance of the established standards. This is where SAP EHS Management Software comes into play.
EHS and Compliance Success

There are global standards as well as local ones. Then there are also, industry specific guidelines and governmental regulations that must be observed and implemented. SAP EHS helps companies to cost effectively comply with all the complex health and safety regulations across the globe. It helps companies to put into effect the work practice standards and operating guidelines that adhere to the already established standards. With SAP EHS, business leaders get equipped with necessary tools and processes that can help them to successfully carry out their environmental compliance responsibilities.

The EHS solution also extends to the areas of risk and incident management. SAP EHS can proactively assess risks and prevent adverse events with operational controls. It becomes easy to capture, investigate and learn from the incident recording and reporting features of SAP EHS. With an EHS Management system in place, business leaders and environmental consultants can accomplish environmental tasks within the everyday routines of their employees.

In our latest webinar on “Environmental Health and Safety” from KloudData we shall be speaking on how you can make environmental compliance the embedded differentiator in your supply network. We will also be having Mr. Tuan Phan from JSR Micro Inc. who will share his experience of implementing the SAP EHS Dangerous Goods Management solution and the benefits they have derived from this new automated process.

How To Manage a Enterprise Mobile Solutions with MDM

Recently at a certain CIO discussion someone remarked that the growth of Enterprise Mobility is accelerating at a higher pace than inflation. How true is that? Well, the fact is it is completely true. In August I wrote a post on Enterprise Mobility wherein I shared that 34% of the global workforce will adapt mobility  However, recent Forrester Research predicts mobile workers will soon make up 73% of the total global workforce. This is a huge number!
Enterprise Mobile Solutions with MDM

New Generation of Mobile Workforce

The employees of the millennial generation are a mobile workforce regardless of their roles. They are globally aware, technologically savvy people who prefer to work on the go. As we have more powerful smart phones and better tablets, enterprise mobility is now fully taking off. Our network bandwidth is quick becoming omnipresent and much faster. This combination provides an ideal breeding ground for mobile business applications for various purposes. Enterprises have woken up to the fact that adapting Enterprise Mobile Solutions, has resulted in a 65% increased productivity among the workforce. Many CXO’s are now driving decision making to the next level by adapting to Enterprise Mobility.

It is no doubt that adaptation of Enterprise Mobility has resulted in better employee connectivity, but it has also thrown in challenges of managing them effectively. This is where an effective MDM Strategy and technology like Sybase Afaria comes into play. The mobile device management takes care of provisioning, securely managing the users, networks and devices. It plays a big part in security and maintaining the data integrity in enterprises. A well placed MDM strategy provides a platform to securely manage enterprises as well as BYODs or personal devices of the employees in an efficient and cost effective manner. Mobility Management enables CIO’s to determine an acceptable setting for the adaption of an appropriate technology that fulfills both the security and management requirements of enterprises.

It is indeed a challenge for enterprises to implement the best in its class data security and create appropriate policies to safeguard its sensitive proprietary information. The MDM lifecycle takes care of a broad range of mobile devices right from provisioning to decommissioning the device. The CIO’s are increasingly focusing on the best-practices of Mobility Management in order to effectively handle a highly mobile workforce. KloudData’s MDM solutions are based on secure platforms like Sybase Afaria and the company aids both SME’s and large-scale enterprises, right from the drafting of policies and education to the successful implementation and all support required thereafter.
